But here he is, and he wouldn't trade it for anything (partly because it saved him from staying too introverted for life). Born in Bandung, he spent part of his childhood in Jakarta and Columbus, Ohio, and played hard around the Seattle-Portland area in the late '80s and '90s. After nearly fifteen years in various professional roles, he packed up with Arlene and their oldest daughter, Tedra, and moved to Vancouver, BC, to attend Regent College. After completing his MDiv in 2012—and welcoming their Canadian-born daughter, Katriel—they returned to Indonesia to begin ministering at IES Jakarta, CTK’s sending church. In 2021, Oyan completed his Ph.D. in systematic theology at Regent University, only to find out the hard truth: the deeper you study theology, the more you realize how little you actually know. He now teaches theology at Jakarta Theological Seminary (STFT Jakarta), and enjoys helping students wrestle with that same realization. In 2025, Oyan transitioned from Lead Pastor to Co-Lead and Teaching Pastor of Christ the King Church, focusing on preaching, pastoral responsibilities, and supporting the community’s growing vision. He is a grateful husband to Arlene, a deeply proud father to Tedra and Katriel, and a two-cups-of-coffee-before-anything kind of guy—now eating slightly less sambal than he'd like. In addition to being a member of the preaching team, Arya serves as the Production Manager at Christ the King, ensuring that everything runs smoothly during worship. He is passionate about designing services that point people to Christ. In 2023, he began pursuing a Master of Theology (M.Th.) at STT Satyabhakti. Preaching with the lectionary, central to CTK’s rhythm, is not something Arya grew up with. But working with it has shaped him. It forces him to engage Scripture on its own terms, and to listen more deeply to the Spirit’s timing through the Church’s seasons. Arya married his college sweetheart, Martha, and they are blessed with a daughter, Anaia. When he’s not being a husband, a dad, or part of CTK’s leadership, Arya teaches at a school in West Jakarta. She started attending that church in 2007 at the invitation of her college sweetheart, who's now her husband, Arya, and it has been her home church ever since. Leaving her hometown in Solo, she has spent 17 years living in the concrete jungle of Jakarta. She is a wife, a daughter, a sister, a teacher, and Friends TV series lover. Married to Arya in 2013, she's called to devote her life to serving at church and teaching Religious Studies at a school in West Jakarta. They are now and have been enjoying the adventure of parenthood as they raise their daughter, Anaia. It has been such a tremendous season in her life, trying to balance motherhood, a full-time job, and ministry. She always believes that Jesus will help her figure out what to do. Martha enjoys hanging out with friends and being out and about. She is passionate about singing and worship leading and has been influenced by various contemporary Christian worship artists such as Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation Church, and Kari Jobe. She was born and raised in Jakarta in her cool Batak family. While Monica may not be the next Mozart, her love for music is undeniable, and she is often found humming along to her favorite tunes. Beyond her professional role, Monica's heart beats for theology and trauma healing, fostering meaningful connections with the youth, and building strong relationships within our community. Since joining CTK Church in 2022, Monica has become a part of the CTK family. As the teen's coordinator, she's dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of our younger members. She volunteered for the online Kids Church and was overjoyed when the virtual doors finally opened, allowing her to meet the children in person. In 2025, Lycel earned her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Early Childhood Education from Miriam College, Philippines—a significant milestone that reflects both her academic excellence and deep calling to serve children. This achievement builds on years of experience in diverse educational settings, where she has consistently created meaningful and engaging learning experiences for young minds. Whether teaching in person or online, Lycel embraces innovative, holistic approaches that inspire both students and fellow educators. But her calling extends beyond the classroom. Lycel is deeply involved in children’s ministry. The Lord not only guided her into this work but also opened unexpected doors along the way. She trained in puppetry under Panggung Boneka, an Indonesian puppet group dedicated to spreading the gospel to children. Through this ministry, she has traveled across Indonesia, partnering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Pansophia Indonesia, and supporting local Sunday school teachers with training and resources. Today, she leads a team of educators known as Puppet Peers, who share her passion for Jesus and for creatively communicating the gospel to children from many backgrounds. She graduated from Atma Jaya University with a degree in Communication and is the fourth of five siblings—something that shaped her into an easygoing and adaptable person. Before joining CTK, she worked in social media, where she enjoyed building creative content and connecting with people. Outside of work, Erina absolutely loves music—singing, listening to music, performing live, making covers for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, plays drum, strums guitar whenever she can. She’s also passionate and enjoy anything artsy, from crafting and scrapbooking to painting and drawing.
